My wife had asked me to setup a network share for her Macbook pro so that she could save her photographs to.<BR/><BR/><BR/><BR/>She would have done it from Adobe Photoshop CS2 (ie Save as).<BR/><BR/><BR/><BR/>It's pretty bad of Adobe to not have fixed this or given a warning that saving to network shares is not supported.<BR/>

From their technote ( www.adobe.com/go/kb403815 ), "Saving directly to a network drive is not supported by Adobe.". This has been true for as long as I remember. VersionCue is their only app that officially supports network shares. Everything else uses Adobe's file-handling routines instead of the OS-provided, and is apt to fail hard on any platform. to your clients you could suggest to not upgrade their machines untill you/they know it's safe. that's what i do with my clinets at any ubuntu/osx upgrade... ah.. my last upgrade to ubuntu brought tons of problem in my machine too. like i was unable to drag a window around, no more smb share, and more. that was just a simply upgrade from update manager.<BR/><BR/>since that i swithced to osx after

Don't be very sure it's just a bug in Photoshop, cause there are lots of corrupted mp3s on those servers, too. All originate from newly upgraded OSX.<BR/><BR/>And, no, I don't praise Ubuntu, or something like. It's just a *real* problem that my clients have and I wanted to alert everybody else.

it's just a bug in photoshop, saving remotely, using "save" instead of "save as". don't put free shit on others like that. look at all the problems ubuntu has before talking.
